Maria H. has been our daycare provider since our oldest daughter was
born (almost 5 years ago!!) and we love her! My kids love Maria like
family and she is a very special person to us as well. I can’t imagine
my kids with anyone else. Recently Maria was diagnosed with Stage 1
Breast Cancer. She had a successful lumpectomy. So she thought. Next
thing you know, the doctors are telling her the cancer was already
spread to her lymph nodes and they missed that the first time around.
She now has a diagnosis of Stage 3 Breast Cancer. Maria is only in her
40’s and has 2 children of her own (13 and 6). Because of the new Stage 3
diagnosis, Maria will have to shut her daycare down as she goes through
chemo, radiation, removal of lymph nodes and mastectomy. She will no
longer have an income. In addition, they have high deductibles to meet
now and in the coming year. They have already had to dip into their
retirement savings. Maria is such a strong person and would never ask
for help so I am doing it for her. I fully expect her to win this
battle. With that being said, I am asking for donations that would go
towards her deductibles and/or the money she is losing by having to shut
down her daycare business. Please consider donating, anything at all
would be valued by her family. Submitted by Skye Hough
